Answer: Its shorthand for Rock of SL. SL was the game clan I was part of back in a game called Jumpgate. The group grew to over 400 members before eventually collapsing in 2006.
By that time i'd already registered by tag on OFPEC and i could never be bothered to change it.
Answer: It was an April fools joke. A lot of people were pestering me to release the Albion class LPDs. For a few days before April first i kept dropping hints I was going to release it. But then saying we'd found some issues and we'd have to delay. I eventually released the "LPD" addon at 1159. On March 31st.
In this case LPD stood for "Landing Platform Duck". A giant drivable 30m tall Rubber duck with a helipad on its back...a lot of people played along giving it good reviews. Others, well lets just say they weren't happy. I even got death threats. Which honestly just made it funnier.
So that's it. The Duck is a running joke. Most of the addons have a Duck icon hidden in the textures somewhere.
Answer: We don't accpet applications for testers. Its strictly by invite only.
We tried it in the past but so many people just shared the early test addons we decided to never do it again. Testing is now done by close friends.
