D Mcnab 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2019 Just want to point out that whilst using the ACE mod and firing a salvo of CRV,s you will tend to go deaf and have a really annoying high pitch tone in your ears that is actually really uncomfortable and adds to my already existing tinnitus. it does have it uses though of droning out the shenanigans in the back of the air frame. ( helicopters helmet and even ear plugs are being used). View full bug
D Mcnab 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2019 just want to add some of the lads have been testing the crvs whilst wearing headsets and found it to be quite uncomfortable and for some quite painful. the only alternative i would assume is to turn off ace 3 but i do not think there are many units that run without it. also tested the rhs apache with a full load and rippled them all off at once, and this did not trigger the ear-piercing effect. whilst wearing rhs helmet and ear plugs. Well the sounds are the default BIS ones with exactly the same config settings. So that would suggest its an ACE issue not an RKSL one.
D Mcnab 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2019 just want to add i have done some testing regarding how the mission template was setup. it seems that within ACE you can disable the ears ringing feature but still have the ability to go deaf if you do not use the earplugs provided. so in order to turn that feature off you go in addon options, Ace Hearing and tick the box disable ear ringing = job done.
